ACERBIC – adj. 1 sharp and forthright. 2 archaic or technical tasting sour or bitter.

Commonly used in conjunction with the word “wit” or in a “wit-like” context.  The word shows up in discussions of politics a lot, too.  Some famous personalities who have been described as having acerbic wit include:
