ALACRITY – n. brisk and cheerful readiness.

Henry David Thoreau gives us a good example of this word’s usage: “Government never furthered any enterprise but by the alacrity with which it got out of its way.”

And according to wikipedia, there are several military ships that carry the name Alacrity.  I suppose I would want my sailors to be brisk and cheerful and ready.  Power of suggestion?
